Perth Food and Drink Park serves to underline Perth’s position as Scotland’s leading city region for food and drink.
Significant investment in projects focused on eco innovation around food and drink, together with the provision of development land, are both acting as a magnet for new talent and new businesses; generating a significant number of new jobs.
Through its provision of serviced development land and dedicated business support facilities, Perth Food & Drink Park supports the continuing growth of this key sector, which – at a national level – aims to achieve turnover of £16.5bn by 2017.
This area has a rich heritage in food and drink; ranging from the beef, lamb and venison produced in highland Perthshire, through the soft fruit industry in the east, to the arable produce from the vale of Strathmore and the many artisan and specialist food producers working throughout Perthshire.
Within Perth and Kinross,a there are an estimated 130 companies in the processing sector, including some award-winning and innovative companies: Highland Spring, Inveralmond Brewery, Simon Howie Foods, Taylors Food Group, Scotherbs, Stewarts of Tayside, Thomas Thomson, Rannoch Smokery and Summer Harvest Oils.
The area also has a strong whisky heritage with distillery production in Aberfeldy, Crieff, Blackford and Pitlochry and strong brand association with Bells, Dewars and the Famous Grouse.
The new Park is in an established business location, yet has an attractive semi-rural setting bounded to the north by productive arable land and to the east by the banks of the River Tay – famed for its salmon fishing.
It is located in an ideal strategic location, close to the A9 Trunk road and enjoys good links to Perth city centre and train station, with Edinburgh International Airport and Glasgow Airport within easy reach
