Developing the Young Workforce Update

Developing the Young Workforce Perth and Kinross had now recruited its two Employer Engagement Advisors, Donna Kudarenko and John Robertson.
Steve Stewart, Communications Director at Stagecoach and Chairman of the DYW P&K board said: “We are delighted to now have our full team in place to drive our local strategy forward and work on developing sustainable links between employers, local schools and Perth College UHI.
“There is currently some good work going on between some of our employers (around 1000) and schools which is having a direct positive impact on the prospects for our young people. However we still need to do more. The new team’s focus will be to simplify the connections between business and education – encouraging the rest of our 6,000 employers, large and small, to get involved to take things to the next level.”
Fiona Reith who heads up the team DYW P&K, said: “Working across the region, the team is here to act as the voice of the employer. Perth and Kinross is a great place to work and live and we need our businesses to showcase the fantastic opportunities to our young people.
John and Donna both come with extensive experience working within both education and industry and are ideally equipped to understand the challenges in both sectors and what it takes to make sustainable and successful partnerships.
