Can Do Innovation Challenge Fund – SRBI competition
August 28, 2018 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
FreePerth and Kinross Council, supported by the Can Do Innovation Challenge Fund and Innovate UK, is holding a two phase competition to explore innovative technologies and processes to develop design solutions and prototype a functional Smart Energy Network.
The deregulation of the energy market has opened up new possibilities and opportunities in the development of energy management systems. The ability to generate, store and trade energy at distance, between unconnected sites is a revolution in energy management. These new smart, flexible energy systems offer great potential for any organisation that manages a dispersed and diverse portfolio of properties, with the potential to reduce energy costs and the carbon footprint of any organisation that can successfully implement such a system.
Perth and Kinross Council (PKC) is looking for up to five innovative and talented individuals, companies or collaborations of companies, to develop a design solution for a Smart Energy Network in the first phase of the competition. The best two designs would then be developed into a prototype / pilot, functioning Smart Energy Network demonstrators in the PKC estate, in the second phase of the competition.
The successful companies will retain the IP of their developments and would be supported to commercialise their prototypes and develop them for this large and expanding market across Britain, Europe and the world. If you think you have the imagination, talent and innovation to meet this challenge – then we would like to hear from you – come and join the revolution !
