Invest in Perth – Positioning Perthshire as a Conference Destination

We would like to invite you along to the latest Invest in Perth Event, Positioning Perthshire as a Conference Destination, in our newest venue the £16m redeveloped Perth Theatre to hear what we are doing to position Perth City and the wider region as one of Europe’s great small cities.

With an inspiring range of industry speakers this free event aims to explore how through the Perth City Plan we have a vision of Perth City as one of Europe’s great small cities and how through investment in strategic infrastructure and hotel investment we aim to bring more meetings, incentives, conferences and events into Perth City and the wider reigon.

Hear from speakers from the Perth and Kinross Council City Development Team, Meetings Perthshire, Scottish Development International and Horsecross Arts.

Open to all Perthshire Businesses, this session will provide a valuable opportunity to be updated on key developments in Perth and the wider region.

Programme:

10.00 – 10.30 – Registration & Breakfast Rolls

10.30 -10.45 – Welcome to Perth Theatre, Gwilym Gibbons, Chief Executive of Horsecross Arts about the forthcoming reopening of Perth Theatre and how the £16.6 million redevelopment programme will impact on the economic growth of Perth City and the wider region.

10.45 -11.15 – Perth City Plan, John McCrone, City Development Manager, Perth & Kinross Council Perth City Plan, sets out Perth & Kinross Council’s long-term vision for Perth as one of Europe’s great small cities. John McCrone, City Development Manager will outline how through focusing on economic development and placemaking, the plan will act as the driver for a collaborative city-wide effort leading Perthshire through an exciting period in it’s history, creating a framework for public and private investment in infrastructure.

11.15 – 11.35 – Hotel Investment in Scotland, Graeme White, International Sector Head, Scottish Development International.

11.35 – 12.00 – Meetings Perthshire, Catriona Anderson, Project Manager, Perthshire Business Tourism Group. Business Tourism is a priority for Perth & Kinross Council as identified in the Perth City Plan. Catriona will outline how Meetings Perthshire is positioning Perth as a destination of choice for conference organisers. and raises awareness of Perth, its ability to host conferences, welcome delegates, and offer an all-round meeting experience.

12.00 – 12.30 – Networking Opportunity
