Perth Racecourse is one of only six of 60 UK racecourses to achieve five-star status according to a survey of horse racing staff who use venue facilities, published this week.
Perth ranks fourth overall and is the only Scottish track in the top bracket of the National Association of Racing Staff’s (NARS) Racecourse Ratings 2018.
The most northernly track in the UK, Perth received a 10/10 score for accommodation quality and cleanliness and a 9.5/10 for day facilities service. Further 9/10 ratings were achieved in day facilities cleanliness, canteen quality, cleanliness and cost, and in stable yard quality and water.
Hazel Peplinski, Perth Racecourse chief executive, said: “This is a hugely satisfying award for all the staff here at Perth who take great pride in welcoming visitors and really value the role stable staff play in our sport.
“As well as thanking all my staff who have contributed to such positive feedback, I must also credit Sam Morshead who set the foundations in place – it was his vision to build an onsite hotel and new stabling, which is a significant factor behind the positive experience stable staff now enjoy.
“It’s a really welcoming set of results as we prepare for our 2019 season for which we have a number of exciting announcements planned as we count down to Perth Festival.”
