The Scotland Broadband Voucher Scheme is now live with two types of vouchers available to help you get a good broadband connection. These are only available with registered suppliers on the scheme:

  • A voucher worth up to £5,000 to help deliver a permanent broadband connection to those properties for which there is no roll-out of superfast broadband planned (either commercially or via R100 contracts).
  • A voucher worth up to £400 to help deliver an interim connection to those properties for which there is roll-out of superfast broadband planned, but not until after the end of 2021. Properties in more difficult-to-reach locations may be eligible for an additional subsidy of £250.

First you will need to go to website where you can search on your postcode and address and a pop up box will tell you if you are eligible for SBVS.

If you are then continue your enquiry with any registered suppliers listed here, as the supplier will request the voucher on your behalf.

You may be eligible to combine the Scottish Government voucher with the UK Government’s Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme (GBVS) here. Your chosen supplier will take this into account automatically and manage the application process. This could boost your voucher to £8,500 for businesses and £6,500 for residential addresses.

Business Broadband Survey

Covid-19 has highlighted the importance of digital connectivity to us all and surveys have been carried out of businesses current connectivity across the Tayside area. In Perth & Kinross a business broadband connectivity survey was carried out over the summer and the results are summarised here. The results highlight the ongoing need for connectivity to be improved in Perth & Kinross and for national and local government and telecoms suppliers to work together to enable this.
